Position Summary

Edgewood Properties is building something people want to live in - and this role is about making sure they can see it before it exists. The Architectural Visualization Artist transforms architectural plans, Revit/BIM models, and design concepts into photo-realistic renderings, animations, and interactive visual presentations that bring projects to life for ownership, stakeholders, and the public.

This is a creative and technical role that sits at the intersection of architecture, design, and visual storytelling. The right candidate has a sharp eye for light, composition, and realism, and understands enough about how buildings are actually designed and built to get the details right. The team here moves fast across a broad portfolio of luxury residential and commercial projects - the work is varied, the quality bar is high, and there's real room to grow. A strong portfolio is required.

Key Responsibilities

3D Modeling & Scene Building

  • Import, clean, and optimize Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp models for use in rendering pipelines.
  • Build detailed 3D environments including landscaping, furniture, people, vehicles, and contextual surroundings that ground the architecture in reality.
  • Construct accurate lighting setups - natural, artificial, and HDRI - to simulate real-world conditions across different times of day and seasons.
  • Read and interpret 2D plans, elevations, sections, and specifications accurately to ensure spatial and technical fidelity.

Rendering & Post-Production

  • Produce high-resolution photo-realistic still images using V-Ray, Corona, Lumion, or comparable rendering engines.
  • Perform post-processing in Photoshop or Lightroom to refine color grading, atmosphere, and overall realism.
  • Composite people, vegetation, skies, and environmental elements into final images with a consistent, professional visual standard.
  • Maintain technical accuracy of materials, scale, proportion, and spatial relationships across all deliverables.

Animation & Interactive Media

  • Create architectural walkthrough and fly-through animations that communicate design intent and spatial experience.
  • Produce real-time interactive experiences using Unreal Engine, Enscape, or Twinmotion as project needs require.
  • Edit and deliver final video content using Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve, including music, titles, and motion graphics.

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Work directly with architects, interior designers, and project managers to understand design intent and translate it into compelling visuals.
  • Incorporate client and team feedback through revision cycles, presenting work-in-progress clearly and receptively.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously against tight deadlines without losing quality or attention to detail.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with outside visualization artists as needed to keep up with workload
  • Maintain consistent visual style aligned with Edgewood Properties' brand standards across all project types.
  • Stay current with industry trends in visualization techniques, software, and emerging tools including AI-assisted workflows.
Core Competencies
  • Visual Artistry - Strong artistic eye for composition, light, color, and realism; produces work that is both technically accurate and genuinely compelling.
  • Technical Fluency - Comfortable moving between multiple software platforms and adapting to new tools as the industry evolves.
  • Attention to Detail - Spatial accuracy and material realism are non-negotiable; every deliverable reflects the standard the firm holds itself to.
  • Communication - Able to translate abstract design concepts into visual narratives and present work clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptability - Receptive to creative feedback, able to iterate quickly, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience with real-time visualization tools: Unreal Engine, Enscape, Lumion, or Twinmotion.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD for model import and coordination.
