Job description

Overview:

Develops stunning immersive and interactive environments for architectural projects. Exercises independent judgment in evaluation, selection and use of standard techniques, and solves problems when encountered. Collaborates on exceptional design and delivery for clients to complete assignments with originality and ingenuity. Anticipates job expectations and contributes to project and design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Works independently on all phases of a visualization project including creating custom immersive experiences on firmwide projects using game technologies

  • Understands and defines requirements for real time visualization per project

  • Helps develop workflows for architectural visualization, virtual, augmented and mixed reality experiences on firmwide projects

  • Works in a team environment, communicates updates, participates in discussions and researches the best approach per project

  • Compiles data and performs design computations in collaboration with project team

  • Works with senior designer(s) and project team(s) on conceptual designs, presentations, design development and production to deliver projects achieving design excellence on time and within budget

  • Uses design iteration to develop concepts and expand on concepts of other team members

  • May participate in project proposals to develop design solutions

  • Understands industry standard construction techniques, building regulations and engineering principles to apply to project plans

  • Supports design effort and client presentations to develop client relationships

  • Develops, modifies and/or reviews the model and related documents

  • Produces graphic presentations, 3D renderings and implementation documents

  • Collaborates on the development of design throughout appropriate phases of the project

  • Assist in the research of new tools, material requirements and costs for projects

  • Prepares presentations/design assets and may build models for client/project team review

  • Organizes and delivers complete project design presentations to client user group or public forum

  • Coordinates with consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives

  • Resolves complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions

  • Works with team to manage client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination

  • Travel may be required

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field required

  • Typically 5+ years of experience

Licenses and Certifications

  • Architectural registration strongly preferred

  • Sustainable design accreditation preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced - expert-level experience, knowledge or skills

Intermediate - experience, knowledge or skills required to produce high-quality solutions or work

Basic - familiar with primary concepts or capabilities and may perform elementary functions depending on role

  • Advanced experience and skills in Revit, Navisworks, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Dynamo required

  • Advanced knowledge of D5 design and rendering software required

  • Advanced knowledge of 3D game development tools and concepts and 3ds Max required

  • Intermediate skills in Twinmotion, Enscape or other visualization skills required; advanced preferred

  • Intermediate skills in Bluebeam required

  • Advanced experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign required

  • Basic skills in MS Office Suite preferred

  • Intermediate knowledge of sustainability and integrative design required

  • Basic knowledge of furniture, furnishings and equipment (FF&E) and Environmental Graphic process required

  • Intermediate ability to create engaging real time immersive and interactive experiences

  • Intermediate understanding of VR/AR/MR development

  • Intermediate experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy required

  • Intermediate knowledge of materials, construction techniques, building codes and QA/QC process required

  • Intermediate presentation, graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas required

  • Intermediate organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time required

  • Intermediate ability to build and maintain client relationships required

  • Intermediate ability to deliver business change through the innovative use of technology

  • Basic ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing required

Base Salary Range: $80K - $100K annually - Los Angeles location only
