3rd Shift Aviation Line Service Technician

Richmond Jet Center Inc. ? KRIC Airport, Richmond, VA

Summary

The 3rd Shift Line Service Technician (10:00 PM ? 6:00 AM) is a high-autonomy role responsible for the safety, security, and "launch-readiness" of our facility during the quiet hours. While the rest of the city sleeps, you own the ramp?supporting late-night medical flights, prepping the morning?s corporate departures, and managing multimillion-dollar aircraft movements.

This role is ideal for independent professionals, student pilots, or A&P students who thrive in a focused, high-trust environment. The quiet hours between active tasks provide an excellent opportunity for study or professional development.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour (Base + $2.00 3rd Shift Differential).

  • Rapid Growth: Pay increases to $18.00 per hour (Total with differential) once trained and working independently (typically 60 days).

Duties

  • Fuel aircraft and maintain proper fuel farm paperwork/quality control.

  • Tow and marshal aircraft with extreme precision (Hangar Stacking).

  • Launch Prep: Ensure aircraft are chocked, locked, and positioned for 6:00 AM departures.

  • Aircraft Service: Lavatory and potable water service; load/unload baggage.

  • Facility Stewardship: Provide basic security to people and property; assist with facility cleaning and other tasks to ensure the terminal is "Richmond Ready" for the morning rush.

  • Operate ground support equipment and assist other departments as required.

Key Qualifications

  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License.

  • Ability to pass FAA Drug and Alcohol testing and background checks.

  • Reliability: Proven track record of punctuality for overnight schedules.

  • Autonomy: Comfortable working and making decisions without direct management supervision.

  • Physicality: Ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 lbs.
