Job description

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Second Shift Supervisor to lead production operations in our wire drawing mill. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing activities, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, promoting a safe work environment, and leading a team of 12–14 employees. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience and the ability to effectively manage personnel during overnight operations.ScheduleSecond Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM   Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays
Must be available to arrive 20–30 minutes before shift start and remain approximately 20–30 minutes after shift end to ensure effective shift transition and communication.Key Responsibilities• Supervise and lead a team of 12–14 production employees during third-shift operations.
• Ensure production schedules and daily output targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Monitor wire drawing processes and equipment performance to maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Coordinate shift activities, work assignments, and employee coverage.
• Conduct shift start-up and handoff meetings.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and work rules.
• Train, coach, and develop employees.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, attendance, and safety records.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and management teams.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.QualificationsRequired:
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
• Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage overnight operations.
Preferred:
• Experience in a wire drawing mill, steel processing, metal manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
