Dependability, strong communication, and time management skills are valued soft skills for coordinating deliveries and handling long-distance routes. These qualifications ensure safe, timely, and efficient transport of goods over regional or long-haul routes.
Over The Road Class B drivers generally operate on regional or multistate routes, often covering several hundred miles per trip, with schedules that may include overnight or multi-day hauls. Most schedules are planned in advance, but flexibility is important, as delivery times and travel durations can change based on weather, traffic, or customer requirements. Drivers may work independently much of the time but regularly communicate with dispatchers and logistics teams to arrange pickups and deliveries. These roles require a balance of autonomy and collaboration to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
