Job description

Goodin Company is recruiting an outside sales representative to join our successful sales team. The outside sales representative will grow sales and increase company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new customers.
Job Duties:
As a successful Outside Sales Representative, you will:
  • Demonstrate ability to integrate industry partners into sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrate leadership in regional industry associations
  • Learn and demonstrate understanding of basic business analytic skills and their application to customers' businesses (e.g., National Builder, distributor, plumber, engineer, architect, etc.).
  • Demonstrate skill in prioritizing customers, product promotion, activity management, campaign deployment and training.
  • Incorporate the selling process within proposal writing and pricing models to match company expectations.
  • Build relationships - Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and customers to foster loyalty and repeat business
  • Demonstrate effective Presentation Skills to successfully influence and communicate with various audience types and sizes.
  • Sales Strategies: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets and goals
  • Customer Support: Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs.

Education/Experience:
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma required
  • Trade school or 4-year degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of previous outside sales experience or previous experience in the HVAC/Plumbing/Mechanical industry
  • Knowledge about construction materials in the Mechanical Trades or a strong willingness to learn
  • Hands on experience with industry software (ERP, CRM, quoting software)

  • Capable of learning and implementing new concepts in an ever-changing sales environment
  • Expands product knowledge base in their primary sales industry and into other sales industries.

  • Understands the nuances of competitor product offerings as well as their target audience and strategies on how they reach that audience.

  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage a busy schedule.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs.
  • Computer Proficiency: Intermediate computer skills for generating quotes, sales orders, and daily communication through email, instant messaging, etc.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other related software as assigned.
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight for customer appreciation events 5-6 times a year
