About GROW:


GROW (Grassroots Reinvestment for Optimal Well-being) is a grassroots initiative started in 2022 to address the opioid crisis, particularly in communities of color, within North St. Louis City and County. We’re looking for a Project Coordinator to join the GROW team.

Position Summary: 


The Community Health Outreach Worker is a contracted, part-time position (20 hours/week). This role helps connect people in need with substance use treatment, recovery support, and essential services. (NOTE: This position requires onsite availability in St. Louis, MO!)


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Serve as a liaison between grassroots agencies, individuals in need, and the broader treatment and recovery support system
  • Provide coordinated outreach, engagement, and linkage to care
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration between agencies, expanding equitable access to prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction services
  • Support GROW STL agencies by coordinating referrals to their services and aligning efforts for maximum impact
  • Conduct outreach in STL City and/or County to engage individuals needing SUD treatment, respite, or recovery options
  • Disseminate information about community resources and grassroot agency's events (i.e. health fairs, food and meal distribution events, immunization events, etc.)
  • Utilize motivational techniques to encourage individuals to progress through the stages of change and access treatment 
  • Complete required reports and track data and outcomes 
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Coordinator to share updates on program implementation, identify successes, and address barriers

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of communities served
  • Experience in the recovery field, including resource management and navigation
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and community members
