Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Outreach Specialist helps implement the company's overall strategy, including digital and traditional outreach methods, to drive engagement, conversation, awareness, and connection within the community. The Outreach Specialist will develop promotional materials to connect the online community to promote C2 GPS youth programs and services. This position coordinates with internal departments, workforce Board counterparts, and the public.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develops outreach materials while upholding the funding Board's brand and identity standards and follows procedures to ensure quality expectations are met.
• Articulates company messaging clearly, and in a manner consistent with the Board's and C2 GPS's standards and organizational code of ethics.
• Identifies and recommends new ways to increase participation, encourage feedback and acquire new connections and followers.
• Micro-targets underserved communities and hard-to-reach populations to expand workforce programs and services.
• A/B testing and outreach materials for distribution, such as, digital flyers, mailers, splash pages, etc.
• Proactively builds social media channels, online platforms, and in-person presentations.
• Drives social media presence through various digital channels.
• Initiates and manages SMS messaging campaigns,
• Develops relationships with potential referral sources, follows-up and maintains partnerships, relationships with customers, followers/fans, and other community organizations.
• Assist C2 GPS in achieving program enrollment by educating and training community partners in best practices.
• Monitor trends in online community tools, trends and applications and is aware of market changes and developments.
• May perform additional services such as videography, including recording and editing, under direction of management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Advocates workforce services and promotes workforce programs to chambers of commerce, professional associations, economic development corporations, and similar entities.
• Assists Liaisons with developing partnerships PWE, OJT, and other similar program agreements.
• Attends and participates in external recruiting events, job fairs, and networking opportunities to keep informed of employment trends and labor market changes.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
• Must have experience in social media and digital technology platforms.
• Must have experience or Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, technology, and computer skills.
• Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and information; must be organized and detailed in the collection, review and analysis of data and information.
• Ability to plan, implement and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives, and initiatives
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent public speaking skills such as facilitating workshops, training and/or presentations.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, Board staff, and the public.
• Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates or undergraduate degree preferred, preferably in a field of workforce development and/or Information Technology
• (1-2) years of related experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance with good driving record.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical requirements include lifting to 10 pounds occasionally. Subject to standing, sitting, bending, and walking to perform job scope. Requires visual acuity, speech, and hearing. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Occasional driving and travel may be required. Flexible hours may be required.
