Overview:
The Tampa Bay Academy of Hope seeks a passionate Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator for our Climate Labor Initiative: Maximizing Access to Training and Employment (CLIMATE) Program. This role is essential for engaging directly with vulnerable and underserved communities, understanding their challenges, and recruiting them into workforce development programs. This position requires a deep commitment to community-centered solutions and the ability to build strong, empathetic relationships with potential participants.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Community Engagement: Work directly with vulnerable and underserved communities to identify material issues, assist in self-organization, resistance, and educational efforts. Develop an understanding of community needs and tailor recruitment strategies accordingly.
  • Participant Recruitment: Build relationships with potential participants to recruit them into the program. Use strong interpersonal skills to connect with people of greatly varied experiences.
  • Partnership Development: Formalize partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and employers to create educational routes and support structures for the apprenticeship program.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research on the program's impact and success. Collect and analyze data regularly to measure compliance with performance goals and identify areas for improvement.
  • Performance Management: Meet and document weekly and monthly targets for prospecting calls, new employer appointments, job starts, verifications, and follow-ups with existing employers.
  • Reporting: Provide monthly updates and complete bi-monthly comprehensive reports to the Program Manager on program progress, challenges, and milestones.
  • Quality Improvement: Continuously work to improve job quality standards within the sector, focusing on wage growth, benefits, working conditions, and career progression.

  • Effective Recruitment: Successfully engage and recruit participants from targeted vulnerable and underserved communities into the program.
  • Strengthen Partnerships: Develop and formalize partnerships that support educational pathways and apprenticeship opportunities.
