Position SummaryUnder general direction the person in this position must work independently, representing the college to non-traditional students, high school students, guidance counselors, parents, families, businesses, and industry. This position will assist and provide guidance with student organizations and activities as needed.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:- Present information to prospective students concerning TSCC programs of study, scholarship opportunities, and general college information.
- Demonstrate effective and motivational interpersonal skills; communication skills, both written and oral; and work ethic (i.e., preparation and punctuality).
- Assist in advising students regarding degree/certificate plans and Alabama Transfers articulation agreements as appropriate to the program.
- Comply with Trenholm State, Alabama Community College System, and FERPA guidelines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of college admissions, advising, and financial aid processes.
- Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and community events to promote the college.
- Distribute college information to schools and community sites while building and maintaining relationships with local organizations.
- Use the computer effectively for word processing, instructional application, electronic communication, information, and data management.
- Meet with high school personnel to maintain involvement in established recruiting programs.
- Coordinate and participate in new student orientation sessions.
- Collaborate with student services to create programs that promote student engagement and retention.
- Prepare recruiting materials to promote the College and on-campus student activities.
- Coordinate annual visits for high school awards programs and college recruiting events.
- Advise prospective students through personal appointments, telephone contact, SMS, and/or written correspondence (including but not limited to e-mail).
- Act as an advisor to student groups involved in coordinating recruitment activities on and off campus.
- Utilizes CRM and Banner software systems to support admissions-related tasks and student communications. May be selected as the TargetX CRM Administrator
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of student activities across multiple campuses.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, Dean of Student Affairs, and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a customer service position with direct customer interaction.
- Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in college admissions, academic advising, or related higher education roles
- Technology skills to utilize computer software programs and social media
- Verbal skills to deliver persuasive presentations to prospective students and guidance counselors, writing skills to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Ability and expertise with working with all types of students, i.e., non-traditional students, traditional students. audit education students, and dual enrollment students.
- Professional appearance required as defined by general high school dress codes.
