RN PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Travel Position
Location: Roseburg, OR
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5x8 Days
Pay: $2,602 /week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Roseburg, Oregon. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, high-quality care for patients in both Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia (Phase I & II) recovery settings. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple perioperative environments, including MMC and ORSC, while caring for a diverse surgical population.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert nursing care in Pre-Op, PACU, and Recovery phases.
  • Assess, monitor, and manage post-surgical patients through Phase I and II recovery.
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to life-threatening arrhythmias.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and recovery interventions per anesthesiologist orders.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and coordinate safe handoff to OR and PACU staff.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding post-anesthesia expectations and discharge instructions.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy in Meditech EMR and paper charting as applicable.
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards across all perioperative units.

Qualifications
  • Current and valid RN license (Oregon license not required at time of submittal - facility will assist with 90-Day Emergency License )
  • Minimum of 2 years recent PACU or Pre-Op experience in an acute care or surgical setting
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS preferred
  • Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and emergency response
  • Experience with Meditech EMR required
  • Strong assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
