JOB TITLE

Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OB/GYN) - Physician

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Southern Crescent is seeking a Physician OBGYN who provides comprehensive women’s healthcare services in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including obstetric and gynecologic care. Responsible for managing routine and high‑risk pregnancies, performing surgical procedures, and delivering patient‑centered care. Participates in call coverage and supports a collaborative care model.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Reports to Practice CEO and Chief OB Leadership.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Provides clinical supervision to Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Conduct well‑woman exams, prenatal/postpartum visits, and gynecologic evaluations
  • Diagnose and manage obstetric and gynecologic conditions, including high‑risk complex patients
  • Perform in‑office and surgical procedures (e.g., biopsies, hysterectomy, cesarean sections)
  • Participate in 24‑hour call rotation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality patient care
  • Supervise and support CNMs and NPs, including chart reviews and consultations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EHR system
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.)
EDUCATION

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE

Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program; prior clinical experience in a similar setting preferred.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Medicare, Medicaid, and payer credentialing with the practice’s participating insurance and managed care plans
  • Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility)
  • DEA registration and prescribing authority
  • Eligibility for hospital privileges
  • Proficiency with Epic EHR system
