- Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities to include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips.
- Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.
- Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas.
- Prepares standard operating procedures.
- May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5- year plan.

QualificationsResumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
- Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
- Possess a current Wilderness First Responder Certification.
- Possess experience facilitating outdoor adventure programming in cold weather climates.
- Possess experience teaching outdoor recreation, safety, and awareness curriculum.

(Fort Wainwright and surrounding communities within 150 miles of the installation). Allowances and Differentials- This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
