Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:

  • Serve as an ambassador of fun, engaging guests, keeping them entertained and safe during outdoor sports and activities.
  • Lead and instruct guests in proper operation, safety, and techniques for biking, hiking, and other outdoor programs, ensuring all safety requirements are followed.
  • Operate 15-passenger vans and trailers safely, following all traffic rules and Canyon Ranch protocols, including fueling and vehicle care.
  • Maintain and prepare all Outdoor Sports (ODS) equipment, perform pre- and post-event setup and cleanup, and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by monitoring participation, adapting activities to guest needs, and fostering a positive, professional experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, taking direction from supervisors and adhering to departmental operations and Canyon Ranch guest service standards.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years of experience in guiding, recreation, sports, or customer service preferred.
  • Must be 21 years or older with a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
  • Flexible schedule with availability on-call, weekdays, weekends, and holidays; work is physically strenuous and performed outdoors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required; must enjoy engaging with guests and facilitating conversation easily.
  • Required certifications: First Aid within 90 days (Wilderness First Aid preferred), MA driver’s license meeting Group A requirements, and ACCT Facilitator Training if leading ropes course activities.
  • Lifeguard certification preferred

The pay rate for this position starts at $22.60/hour.
