They work under the supervision of experienced professionals to develop practical skills in areas like trail maintenance, habitat restoration, guiding, or outdoor leadership. Apprenticeships often combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction, helping participants build a strong foundation for a career in the outdoors. These roles are ideal for those passionate about nature, sustainability, and working outside.

What are the typical responsibilities and learning opportunities for an outdoor apprentice during their first year?

As an Outdoor Apprentice, your first year typically involves assisting experienced guides or instructors with outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, or environmental education. You'll learn about safety protocols, group management, and basic outdoor skills through hands-on experience.
