They analyze data to determine the effectiveness, benefits, and risks of treatments, procedures, and policies. By evaluating real-world outcomes, these professionals help improve healthcare decision-making, policy, and patient care. Outcomes researchers often work in hospitals, universities, insurance companies, or pharmaceutical firms.

How does an outcomes researcher typically collaborate with clinical and data science teams?

Outcomes Researchers often work closely with both clinical experts and data scientists to design and execute studies that assess the effectiveness of healthcare interventions. They help translate clinical questions into measurable outcomes and ensure that study designs are robust and relevant. Collaboration usually involves regular interdisciplinary meetings, joint development of research protocols, and shared analysis of data. This teamwork is essential to produce meaningful insights that can inform policy, clinical practice, and product development.
