Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

THIS POSITION IS IN DECATUR ALABAMA

In this role the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of the shipping department, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. Shipping Supervisor will organize and oversee a small team of employees, ensuring that products are properly packaged, labeled and shipped. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to coordinate with other departments to streamline shipping processes. This role will also oversee the warehouse for proper organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

. Must be able to work 9 am to 5:30pm or until last load is picked up.

· Ability to perform essential responsibilities and physical demands.

· Associate degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, operations or related field.

· Minimum of three years of manufacturing shipping/warehouse supervision experience. Candidate Must have worked in a manufacturing plant!!

· Strong knowledge of shipping operations, scheduling trucks, loading procedures, material handling, completing paperwork and bill of lading.

· Experience with ERP systems

· Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Outlook).

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Must be detail oriented, warehouse management/supervisor experience is a must - PLEASE DO NOT APPLY if you do not have shipping and warehouse experience in a manufacturing setting. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE.

· Utilize the Shipping Schedules and Production Schedules in due date order to coordinate on-time delivery of products. Exceptions will be communicated by production control or operations manager.

· Direct all activities associated with outbound shipments from order fulfillment to final delivery ensuring shipments are accurate, complete, properly packaged, and free from damage.

· Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, efficiency, and material flow within the shipping area.

· Manage relationships with shipping carriers, negotiate shipping rates, and monitor carrier performance to achieve cost savings and improve delivery service levels.

· Manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring and

resolving conflict.

· Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis in accordance with company policy.

· Participate in staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations, corrective action and terminations.

· Train and mentor employees to enhance skills and productivity.

· Review, correct and approve the daily labor reports for accuracy of work order and hours worked.

· Keep Operations Manager advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.

· Read and interpret drawings, follow routers and use simple math to perform basic calculations.

· Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.

· Participate in the implementation and roll-out of lean principles using 5S methods and tools.

· Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.

· Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.

· Must have a working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in

writing.

· Perform all other duties, as assigned.
