Position Summary

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound shipping operations within a graphite manufacturing facility. This role ensures the accurate, safe, and timely shipment of graphite products—including raw graphite materials, machined components, and specialty carbon products—to customers and distribution partners. The Shipping Coordinator coordinates daily logistics activities, supervises shipping personnel, maintains compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supports inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Logistics Operations

  • Lead daily outbound shipping activities, ensuring on-time and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate preparation, packaging, labeling, and documentation for domestic and international shipments.
  • Verify shipping documents (BOLs, packing lists, commercial invoices, export paperwork).
  • Ensure proper handling and packaging of graphite products to prevent damage and contamination.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and train shipping team members on processes, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production and shipment schedules.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Qualifications Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of shipping/logistics experience in a manufacturing environment (industrial or heavy materials preferred).
  • 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Familiarity with freight carriers (LTL, FTL, international freight, air/ocean).
