What is outbound market research?

Outbound market research is a process where researchers proactively reach out to potential customers or clients to gather information about their preferences, opinions, and needs. This approach typically involves methods such as phone surveys, email questionnaires, or face-to-face interviews. The goal is to collect data directly from the target audience, which helps businesses make informed decisions about their products, services, or marketing strategies. Outbound market research differs from inbound methods, which rely on participants coming to the researcher rather than being contacted.
