Job description

Responsible to provide watercraft operator inspections and maintenance. Boat/barge operations and maintenance. Over the water waste transfers.

Boom operations. Marine oil spill responses. BOWTS operation.

Harbor debris clean-up. Watercraft assistance. Pump truck and forklift operations.

Other duties associated with the waterfront operations, to include line handling, shore power cable laying-out and coiling. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of two (2) years related experience

Must have utility boat and barge operation experience. Must be familiar and be able to comply with Coast Guard, federal, and local regulations/statutes. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of MP-5.

Must have a good attitude towards customers and be able to communicate with them both written and oral. Must be able to command all assigned small boat operations while preforming duties as Boat Operator. Must be familiar with the Navy terminology and phraseology while communicating via UHF radios.

Must take responsibility for the safe operations & the safety of all personnel and/or cargo carried on board. Must be familiar with the handling of inboard and outboard motorboats. Must be able to work in tight spaces and awkward positions, be able to lift/carry 25 pounds or more.

Must have or be able to obtain First-Aid/CPR, Ladder Safety, Fall Protection, Facility Response Team member, and HAZWOPER, Forklift, and Respirator trainings and/or certifications. Must pass High Risk Screening Physical and obtain 2nd Class Swimmer credential. Must pass USCG Merchant Mariner Physical and obtain Six Pack License OUPV Operator Uninspected Passenger Vessels.

Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and on-call as needed. Desired: Minimum of (2) years of work experience in Port Operations.

Completion of Coast Guard Boat Safety Course or greater certificates and licenses.Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of two (2) years related experience. Must have utility boat and barge operation experience
