About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing NPI Engineer III plays a critical role in bringing innovative new products into manufacturing. This position serves as the bridge between Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations, helping transform new designs into stable, efficient, and scalable production processes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manufacturing engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing product manufacturability early in the development process, and designing the processes, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing systems that enable successful product launches.
This position is part of the Production Engineering team located in Fort Collins, Colorado and will be onsite.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
  • Leading New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through full production release.
  • Partnering closely with R&D teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, serviceability, quality, and long-term production success.
  • Designing scalable manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production methods that support successful product launches.
  • Driving manufacturing readiness activities, process validation, and production ramp-up efforts.
  • Using quality data, MRB trends, and root cause analysis techniques to improve yield, reduce defects, and strengthen process performance.
  • Implementing Lean Manufacturing initiatives that improve throughput, reduce waste, and support operational excellence.
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to establish standards, resolve technical challenges, and ensure production readiness.
  • Contributing technical expertise to capital equipment planning, capacity planning, and manufacturing investment decisions.

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing, production engineering, process engineering, or related experience.
  • Proven experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product launches, or manufacturing transfers from development through production release.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing methodologies, root cause analysis, and process engineering principles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Product Development.

Nice to Have
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) or Design for Serviceability (DFS) experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Experience with SPC, Cpk, Gage R&R, and statistical process control tools.
  • Experience with ERP or MES systems.
  • Experience with tooling, fixture design, automation, or manufacturing test systems.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment justification and production capacity planning.

Why This Role Is Different
Rather than supporting only existing production lines, you'll help define how future products are built. You'll work directly with development teams to create the manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production strategies that transform ideas into reliable, scalable products used by customers around the world.
Your work will have a direct impact on product quality, manufacturability, and speed to market while supporting technologies that help protect water resources and build a more sustainable future.
OTT HydroMet is proud to be part of the Water Quality segment of Veralto (NYSE: VLTO), a global leader dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, safe food and medicine, and trusted essential goods. When you join Veralto's global network of associates, you join a culture where purpose meets possibility, where your work has an everyday impact, and where you'll have opportunities to deepen your expertise, pursue your ambitions, and grow your career.
