Job description

The OTC Clerk generally performs a customer service duty. This may involve a broad spectrum of tasks, including running the cash register to ring up purchases, help the patients to complete the OTC form, and answer questions in an appropriate manner that come from customers about their orders.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILTIES  

  • Answer telephone inquiries, referring to OTC orders and place the order for our patients.
  • Maintaina verygood professionalism anda customerservice in the department.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, work areas, or shelves. 
  • Receive and help the patients to complete the OTC form inan appropriate mannerincluding always(Member’sname, address, date of birth and phone number)
  • OTC clerk has the total responsibility ofreceiveandreviewthe OTC form with the patient.
  • Review carefullyallthe patient’s information and items that theyare requesting.
  • Perform tasks,such ascompiling andmaintainingordersrecords.
  • Answering phones and responding to questionsregards tothe OTC form.
  • OTC clerk has the responsibility to enter in the system at least 80 to 100 orders per day.
  • OTC clerk has the responsibilityto have the basic knowledge of the OTC form content.
  • OTC clerk has the responsibility to call those patients that pick up in the clinic on time and ensure that they pick up their order as soon as the orderarriveto the clinic.
  • Operate cash register and handle cash and other types of tender if its required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
