Job description

Occupational Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 5x8.0. Weekend requirement: 2 weekends every 4 weeks.

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety, continuous quality improvement, and effective patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient's level of functioning upon physician orders and plan appropriate treatment.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning for patients.
  • Complete necessary documentation according to department policies and procedures.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in techniques of Occupational Therapy.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members at their level of understanding.
  • Budget time, set priorities, and maintain flexibility in scheduling patients.
  • Participate in team conferences and provide relevant information to team members.
  • Ensure safe handling techniques and adherence to safety policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • Valid and current state license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in inpatient rehabilitation.
