OT Network Administrator I:
Position Summary:
The role is responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide redundancy, quality of service, and capacity planning solutions.
Essential Functions:
• Able to handle project tasks with the guidance of more senior network administrators or vendor technical support.
• Competent with most of the core technologies in use at LBWL.
• Prioritizes work effectively within guidelines provided by IT management.
• Executes a training plan as defined in annual performance evaluation process.
• Demonstrates a clear customer service/IT is a support organization mentality in all interactions.
• Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.

Job Specifications:
Required:
  • CCNT or equivalent experience required. (Note that for equivalent experience, the candidate must provide a letter outlining work experience covering each point tested in the certification.)
  • 0-1 years of experience as a Network Administrator working in a secure multi-networked, Internet connected environment.

Position Summary:
The role is responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links under the direction of IT/OT Engineers and Architects. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
Essential Functions:
  • Able to complete most tickets related to network administration, including basic route/switch and ACI configuration without assistance
  • Able to independently complete support tickets related to network administration without assistance
  • Able to handle tickets under the guidance of more senior network administrators or vendor technical support.
  • Able to participate in the on-call rotation with as needed assistance from system administrators or more senior network administrators.
  • Technically competent to be assigned as the secondary resource for LBWL in at least one core technology at LBWL and able to execute upgrades and patching.
  • Competent with VTP, ISL, 802.10, STP, RSTP, vPC, BGP, EIGRP
  • Competent with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching.
  • Upgrade new and standard products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment.
  • Able to self-prioritize most work with limited guidance from IT management

  • Able to identify risk and provide risk mitigation when making changes in a network environment; install and configure network devices like Fortinet FortiSwitches and FortiGate firewalls, troubleshoot network issues.
  • Assist in coordination of testing changes, upgrades and new products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment; make recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the environment.
  • Coordinate and work with other data center teams such as Server, Storage, and Backup Operations.
  • Maintain Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) tokens for customer and vendor access.
  • Participate in performance and volume analysis and design; participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Identify and apply potential improvements related to the environment for an application; provide accurate and complete answers to general use and environment questions in a timely manner; provide effective on-site environment support as needed.
  • Accurately set severity of identified defects; provide input to training and/or documentation materials regarding latest technical and functional design change; ensure that all work is documented for future reference.
  • Follow quality standards; ensure effective and reliable backups are being performed and distributed properly.
  • Proactively address customer needs; track and anticipate volume and type of use of the environment.
  • Communicate accurate and useful status updates.
  • Plan and manage network operating system upgrades; actively participate in analyzing and evaluating emerging software and hardware technologies/standards.

The role is responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links under the direction of IT/OT Engineers and Architects. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. The LBWL data centers and plants will be the primary focus.
Essential Functions:
  • Able to complete most tickets related to network administration, including basic route/switch and ACI configuration without assistance
  • Able to independently complete support tickets related to network administration without assistance
  • Able to handle tickets under the guidance of more senior network administrators or vendor technical support.
  • Able to participate in the on-call rotation with as needed assistance from system administrators or more senior network administrators.
  • Technically competent to be assigned as the primary resource for LBWL in at least one core technology at LBWL and able to demonstrate technical leadership execute in planning upgrades and patching.
