Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SCADA Consultant to design, develop, implement, and support SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for industrial automation and utility environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SCADA platforms, PLCs, HMI development, industrial communication protocols, and system integration. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, and business teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain SCADA systems.
  • Develop and configure HMI screens, alarms, trends, and dashboards.
  • Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, RTUs, DCS, and enterprise applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues, communication failures, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Configure industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, and MQTT.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and commissioning activities.
  • Develop reports, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform system testing, FAT/SAT, and production deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation projects.
  • Travel to customer sites approximately once per month for implementation and support.

Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience with SCADA systems.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more SCADA platforms:
    • Ignition
    • AVEVA/Wonderware
    • Siemens WinCC
    • GE iFIX
    • Rockwell FactoryTalk View
    • Schneider EcoStruxure
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or GE).
  • Strong knowledge of HMI development.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, IEC 61850, MQTT).
  • Experience integrating SCADA with enterprise systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI System / AVEVA PI Historian.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with scripting using Python, C#, or VBScript.
  • Experience with cloud-based SCADA or Industrial IoT (IIoT).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for industrial control systems (ICS/OT).
  • Experience with utilities, manufacturing, water/wastewater, oil & gas, or renewable energy industries.
