Job description

Job Description: Senior Automation Engineer (Aveva / OSI PI)

Location: Marlborough, MA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 9+ Months Contract (04/06/2026 – 12/31/2026)
Shift: Monday–Friday (8 AM – 5 PM)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Aveva/OSI PI systems and industrial automation to support FlexFactory and standalone automation projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PI Historian, PI Vision, Aveva System Platform, and GAMP5 validation documentation, along with strong testing and troubleshooting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project documentation for requirements, testing, and validation

Configure, deploy, and customize Aveva System Platform 2020 solutions

Work with OSI PI Historian and PI Vision for data collection and visualization

Execute verification test planning and formal validation (GAMP5 V-Model)

Perform engineering testing, protocol shakedown, and system validation

Troubleshoot issues related to process equipment, hardware, and software

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and follow direction from project leads

Support delivery of automation solutions for FlexFactory / standalone systems

Required Skills

Strong experience with:

Aveva / OSI PI Historian & PI Vision

Aveva System Platform 2020

GAMP5 (V-Model) documentation & validation

Knowledge of industrial protocols:

OPC, Profibus, EtherNet/IP

Experience in:

Verification testing & validation execution

Automation system troubleshooting

Documentation (URS, FRS, FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ)

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in life sciences / pharma manufacturing environments

Exposure to FlexFactory or modular automation systems

Prior experience working in regulated environments
