Adecco is assisting a leading client in recruiting for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist. This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining Environmental, Health & Safety programs across multiple sites while helping create and sustain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in safety compliance, risk assessment, incident investigation, and employee training within manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
Position Summary
The EHS Specialist partners with site leadership and employees to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role supports safety programs, conducts audits and inspections, investigates incidents, coordinates training, and helps drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce workplace risks and promote a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and recommend risk reduction measures.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations and identify root causes.
  • Track corrective actions and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Maintain OSHA logs, injury records, and related compliance documentation.
  • Assist with environmental reporting, permits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support safety training programs and identify ongoing training needs.
  • Partner with site leadership to strengthen safety awareness and accountability.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazardous material inventories.
  • Participate in Management of Change (MOC), machine safety assessments, and pre-start safety reviews.
  • Manage safety-related systems and training platforms.
  • Conduct contractor safety inspections and coordinate corrective actions when needed.
  • Support industrial hygiene activities and workplace exposure monitoring.
  • Assist with ISO, VPP, and other safety certification initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, quality, environmental, and safety standards.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of EHS experience; or 6+ years of EHS, risk management, or environmental compliance experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Experience supporting EHS programs in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or food and beverage environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, OHST, or CHMM.
  • Experience with OSHA compliance, incident reporting, and regulatory inspections.
  • Experience presenting safety information to leaders and employees.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, and hazard communication programs.
