The hours for this position are 3pm-12am.  
Summary 
While reporting to the Training and Development Manager/Supervisor and working closely with the T&D & Safety Coordinators. The Positional Training & Safety Instructor is responsible for delivering hands-on training to new hires and current employees, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for operational success. This role also conducts safety inspections, reinforces compliance with safety protocols, and promotes a culture of continuous learning and risk awareness. By blending instructional expertise with safety leadership, the instructor plays a key role in workforce development and operational integrity.
Duties/Responsibilities 
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for departmental new hires, overseeing onboarding and role-specific training.
  • Is LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out) Trained. Trains and issues lock for LOTO when needed for new and existing employees and reports any violations.
  • Observes, complies with, and enforces all corporate, departmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Delivers training, coaching, and reinforcement practices that drive measurable improvements in safety, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Collaborates closely with assigned Operations teams to implement and uphold Training & Development and Safety programs that support departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Provides consistent feedback to Training & Development and Safety leadership, as well as department supervisors, regarding employee progress and performance.
  • Maintains a coach/mentor mindset with both new and existing employees, fostering a positive and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Conducts regular inspections, assessments, and/or observations related to both safety and training effectiveness (Behavioral/kettles audits, Eyewash & Area Inspections, Safety Observations, PPE Cabinets, and any other assigned).
  • Actively participates in all safety initiatives and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identifies recurring workplace health and safety concerns, recommends actionable solutions and/or submits Maintenance Workorders.
  • Responsible for completing basic injury reports when needed.
  • Performs additional duties requiring similar skills and working conditions as assigned.
 
Required Skills/Abilities 
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (verbal and written) is required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent or at least one years' related experience required.

  • Training experience and OSHA safety background highly desirable.
  • Sense of urgency, ability to respond to critical incidents required.
  • Ability to train, coach employees in a fast-paced environment.
