Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience for a Level 1 trauma acute care facility.

Details
  • Acute care Level 1 trauma cardiac catheterization lab with 6 procedure suites/labs
  • Average caseload of 10 to 15 cases per day
  • Cath lab operates separately from IR and EP departments
  • Uses EPIC EMR along with PACS and McKesson cardiology systems
  • 4x10 hour day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Weekly on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis, typically 8-9 shifts per month
  • Call response time of 30 minutes from time of page
  • Cardiologist physicians are on call 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Primary charge nurse covers 0600-1530 and does not routinely complete cases but participates in call rotation
  • No floating requirements at this time
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of cardiac cath lab experience required
  • ARRT and BLS certifications required
  • IEMA certification required
  • Active IL license required, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated (license required if applicable)
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience and McKesson cardiology PACS experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen for all panels as OSF is a Drug-Free Campus
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures
  • Unit-specific orientation typically lasts 3 to 5 days
  • Scrubs are provided by the hospital
  • A mandatory call list is utilized when staff cannot fulfill their assigned call shift
  • Holiday coverage is required on a rotational basis
  • COVID vaccination is not required for this facility
  • Local candidates are accepted with a reduced local bill rate applying to those with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
