An OrthoFi job typically involves working for OrthoFi, a company that provides patient financing, insurance verification, and revenue cycle management solutions for orthodontic and dental practices. Employees in these roles may work in customer service, sales, account management, or technology development to help streamline payment processes and improve practice efficiency. Responsibilities can include assisting patients with financing options, managing insurance claims, and supporting healthcare providers with administrative tasks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Orthofi position, and why are they important?

Orthodontic Financial Coordinators (often referred to as OrthoFi coordinators) need a solid understanding of dental insurance, patient billing, and payment plan management, usually supported by experience in a dental or orthodontic office. Familiarity with dental practice management software such as OrthoFi, as well as proficiency in using typical office tools like spreadsheets and payment processing systems, is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations are critical soft skills for this position. Mastery of these areas ensures accurate billing, positive patient experiences, and efficient practice operations.

The role also involves providing guidance to patients on financial options, handling sensitive information with discretion, and reconciling payments to ensure accurate records. Patient Experience Coordinator

Hodson & Meister PA

North Miami Beach, FL • On-site

$18 - $23/hr

Full-time

PTO

Job description

About Us
Hodson & Meister Orthodontics is a family-rooted orthodontic practice serving North Miami Beach since 2018. We're not a corporate chain — we're a tight-knit team that treats patients like family. Our patients feel the difference the moment they walk in, and the person at the front desk is a big reason why.

The Role
This is not a typical receptionist job. You are the first impression, the last impression, and everything in between. You'll run the front of this practice — phones, scheduling, check-ins, patient questions — with confidence and accuracy, without needing to be told twice. If you've managed a busy hotel front desk or a packed dining room, you already know what this environment feels like.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Answering every call promptly, handling new patient inquiries warmly, and resolving existing patient questions accurately
  • Managing the schedule — confirmations, reminders, filling cancellations
  • Checking patients in and making sure every person feels expected and valued
  • Walking patients through payment options using OrthoFi clearly and confidently
  • Keeping the front desk running end-to-end — when the Office Manager isn't in the building, you're not waiting for instructions. You're handling it.

Schedule
  • Monday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Wednesday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Full-time, in-person. Reliability is non-negotiable.

Must-Haves
  • Fully bilingual — English and Spanish. Spoken and written. This is not optional.
  • Reliable. Five days a week, on time, every time.
  • Self-directed. You learn fast, ask smart questions, and don't need hand-holding.
  • Tech-comfortable. We use Cloud9 Ortho and OrthoFi — easy to learn, but you have to be genuinely comfortable with software.
  • Strong communicator. Warm on the phone, professional in writing, clear in person.
  • Local. We need someone in or near North Miami Beach who can show up consistently.

Strong Pluses
  • Background in hospitality, hotel front desk, or restaurant hosting
  • Prior dental or medical office experience
  • Familiarity with insurance or patient financial conversations

Compensation
  • $18–$22/hour based on experience
  • 90-day performance review with growth potential
  • [PTO / Benefits — add yours here]

How to Apply
Send your resume and a short note — not a form letter — telling us why this role fits you right now. We read everything.
