Your Role

As an entry-level Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician, you'll help keep our fleet of heavy equipment operating safely and efficiently. You'll gain hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel and gas-powered equipment, learning preventative maintenance best practices, and supporting jobsite and shop operations.

With training, mentorship, and exposure to a wide variety of equipment, you'll develop the technical skills needed to grow your career-starting with routine maintenance and troubleshooting and progressing into more advanced repairs over time.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and trucks
  • Performing preventative maintenance to help minimize downtime
  • Learning to work with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Reading service manuals and using diagnostic tools with guidance and support
  • Accurately documenting service work and repairs
  • Working closely with experienced technicians, shop foremen, and field teams
  • Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work environment

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone eager to learn, dependable, and ready to build a career in heavy equipment maintenance.

  • Entry-level experience or hands-on exposure to heavy equipment, diesel mechanics, or automotive repair
  • Willingness to learn and grow technical skills on the job
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems (formal training preferred, not required)
  • Ability to read technical manuals and follow instructions
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift equipment and work in a shop/outdoor environment
