Job description

Our Team

Are you passionate about building workforce capability, fostering internal career mobility, and modernizing learning in a high-tech manufacturing environment? We are looking for a Lead L&D Organizational Capability Partner to shape the learning strategy and operational capability for our Venlo manufacturing site.

In this key role, you bridge global learning platforms with local manufacturing realities. You assess current workforce skill sets, build internal development pathways for hard-to-fill technical roles, and partner with shift leadership to drive operational readiness. You also innovate return-to-work paths by connecting skill matrices with health reintegration.

What You Will Do1. Plant Learning Strategy & Internal Career Pathways
  • Workforce Capability Gap Analysis: Partner with Managers and Supervisors to analyze current skill levels, forecast future competency needs, and design site specific learning roadmaps.

  • Internal Talent Pipelines: Build structured internal development programs for hard-to-fill operational and technical positions (e.g., upskilling operators to maintenance specialists), partnering with external institutes where appropriate.

  • Frontline Leadership Development: Facilitate localized training workshops and coaching programs for frontline supervisors and emerging leaders to strengthen shopfloor leadership capability.

  • Partner with L&D peers in our global Manufacturing locations to address shared needs and create global synergies in designing and executing learning solutions

2. Learning Ecosystem Activation & AI Innovation
  • Digital Platform Promotion: Actively promote, curate, and drive engagement for global platforms:

  • 360 Learning: Update, refresh, and maintain shopfloor onboarding modules and operational e-learning content.

  • LinkedIn Learning: Drive targeted adoption and learning paths across the plant.

  • GenAI & HR Tech Integration: Leverage modern GenAI tools and authoring software to rapidly synthesize training content, generate customized learning resources, and streamline training logistics.

3. Skill Matrix Governance (AG5) & Reintegration Link
  • AG5 Matrix Ownership: Drive the site-wide standardization, maintenance, and strategic rollout of the AG5 skill matrix system across all manufacturing shifts.

  • Health Reintegration Synergy: Partner directly with the Case Manager Absence & Vitality to catalog Light Duty / Adjusted Work profiles (aangepast werk) within AG5. Enable structured, skill-based return-to-work options for reintegrating employees under WVP mandates.

4. Vendor Management & Program Evaluation
  • External Partnerships & Budget: Manage relationships with external technical training vendors, regulatory certification bodies, and government training subsidy applications.

  • Impact Measurement: Establish clear metrics to evaluate learning effectiveness, tracking time-to-productivity for new hires and skill progression across teams.

Your Qualifications

At VistaPrint, we are striving to hire individuals that add new ideas and perspectives to our teams and enhance our culture. No matter your background or work experience, we strongly encourage you to apply—even if you feel that you don’t meet the exact requirements or have the same qualifications. You might be a great candidate for this or other opportunities.

  • Professional Experience: 4+ years of progressive experience in Learning Development, Capability Building, or Organizational Development, ideally within a manufacturing, logistics, or engineering environment.

  • Manufacturing Mindset: Deep understanding of operational shift, dynamic technical skill requirements, and frontline workforce engagement.

  • Learning Tech & AI Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with LMS/e-learning platforms (e.g., 360 Learning, LinkedIn Learning) and skill matrix software (e.g., AG5). High affinity for leveraging GenAI tools for learning content creation.

  • Facilitation & Coaching: Strong track record in delivering engaging workshops, facilitating group discussions, and coaching individual contributors and managers.

  • Strategic & Pragmatic: Ability to translate business strategy into practical, shopfloor-ready training initiatives.

  • Languages: Fluent in English and Dutch
