Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician
Location: Maple Grove, MN
Schedule: 1st Shit
Pay Range: $30-34/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to perform precision electrical, electronic, and mechanical assembly within a highly technical manufacturing and engineering environment.
This hands-on position will support the assembly, fabrication, testing, modification, and development of micro-electronic products, electro-mechanical assemblies, and associated support equipment, including components and subassemblies used within ordnance systems.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform precision electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assembly of components, assemblies, and subassemblies.
  • Perform developmental assembly operations ranging from repetitive production activities to complex, non-repetitive work.
  • Assemble electronic and/or mechanical components and subassemblies supporting ordnance systems and related equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and work accurately from electrical and mechanical engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Follow detailed written and verbal work instructions to complete assembly and testing activities.
  • Assist engineers in the development of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies, and components.
  • Support both production and prototype/development environments as required.
  • Perform highly precise micro- and nano-scale fabrication, assembly, and testing while maintaining near-zero-defect quality expectations.
  • Utilize electrical assembly equipment, specialized tooling, and hand tools to complete assembly and fabrication activities.
  • Conduct electrical and electronic testing using equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, and related electronic test equipment.
  • Collect, document, and generate test data and associated test reports.
  • Identify potential assembly or testing issues and communicate technical findings to engineering and production personnel.
  • Apply strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when performing precision assembly and troubleshooting activities.
  • Perform work in accordance with applicable J-STD-001 requirements and practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2-year technical degree OR a minimum of 3 years of related technician experience performing comparable work within a production or prototype environment.
  • Previous experience performing electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Proficiency using electronic test equipment, electrical assembly tools, and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, engineering sketches, and technical work instructions.
  • Ability to conduct testing using electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, meters, and similar instrumentation.
  • Ability to accurately collect, document, and report test data.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated hands-on technical ability.
  • Precision and fine motor skills necessary to perform micro- and nano-scale fabrication, assembly, and testing with near-zero defects.
  • Knowledge of J-STD-001 requirements or the ability to demonstrate experience working to J-STD-001 standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship and product quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience performing electro-mechanical assembly within a prototype, engineering development, or complex manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with microelectronics or other small-scale precision assemblies.
  • Current or previous J-STD-001 certification.
  • Experience supporting engineers with developmental builds, prototypes, testing, fabrication, and product modifications.
  • Experience working with ordnance systems, defense products, or other highly regulated technical products.
  • Experience performing both repetitive production assembly and non-repetitive developmental or prototype builds.
