Position Overview:

Oversee the Check Processing department to ensure that the daily processing, balancing, and reporting of Transit, Transit Returns, Inclearings, ATM and Mobile deposits are handled efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner. Critical position as responsibilities includes non-deferrable services that must be performed to meet Regulation CC and Federal Reserve deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • 20%- Provide coaching and leadership to members of the Check Processing team. Coordinate resources to ensure completion of tasks and projects in a timely manner.
  • 20%- Perform administrative tasks such as reviewing and approving time records for employees, approving Workday CE's, approving and reviewing member complaint research & resolutions, conducting quarterly performance reviews, and following up on career development improvements that are required. Make recommendations for merit increments and promotions. Tasks also include selecting candidates from applicant pool, interviewing, and selecting the most qualified.
  • 20%- Responsible for continuously developing and enhancing the procedures and operations in the department as well as working on special projects as requested by the Vice President of Check Services.
  • 20%- Monitor trends related to the department and provide reporting to the Vice President of Check Services.
  • 10%- Assist when needed in any area of Check Services departmental operations with processing or problem resolution
  • 10%- Proficient with rules and regulations associated with transit, inclearing, and transit return processing including but not limited to Reg CC Regulations, Credit Union operations, check clearing processes in-house and via FRB, etc.

Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 years of direct experience, with 1 year in a lead or mentor role
  • Leadership and strategic planning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Cross departmental collaboration
  • Meeting planning and facilitation, including documentation and successful follow-ups.
  • Senior level status updates

Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Excel, Word and Outlook.

Job Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Hybrid expectations (remote and on site)
  • Sitting, telephone, computer for prolonged periods
  • Carrying, lifting, push/pull up to 15 lbs.
  • Background noise from other employees and office equipment.
