Job description

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers a 13+ week contract-to-hire opportunity supporting sterile compounding operations in a dynamic pharmacy setting. Working Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the role focuses on preparing sterile compounded medications for infusion and specialty pharmacy patients while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sterile compounded medications under pharmacist supervision following USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and cleanroom protocols.
  • Perform accurate pharmacy calculations and prepare compounded products.
  • Assist with labeling, packaging, and shipment of infusion medications.
  • Manage compounding logs, batch records, and quality assurance documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support ordering processes.
  • Maintain cleanroom equipment and conduct environmental monitoring.
  • Support medication order processing and prescription fulfillment.
  • Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, OSHA, and company policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuous training, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile compounding, home infusion, hospital, or oncology pharmacy.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and aseptic technique.
  • Familiarity with USP <797> and USP <800> regulations.
  • Proficient in pharmacy calculations and pharmacy management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare teams.
