Order Picker Material Handler
Grade:
Reports to: Department Supervisor Department: Supply Chain Management
Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt Division: Logistics
JOB SUMMARY:
The Order Picker will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing items for shipment, ensuring that orders are fulfilled efficiently and correctly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Read and interpret pick-lists to determine items to be picked.
  • Locate and retrieve items from shelves or storage areas using barcodes, serial numbers, or other identifiers.
  • Inspect items for damage and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Package items securely for shipment, including shrink-wrapping and boxing.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as turrets, forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Update inventory records to reflect items picked and shipped.
  • Assist with stock replenishment and organization of the warehouse.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in employee training programs
  • Fill out any paperwork, as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to drive a hi-lo.
  • High degree of attention, accuracy and care required to prevent mistakes and errors from occurring.
  • Must have patience and be safety conscious.
  • Hold a valid drivers' license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
  • Noise - Laboratory machines.
  • Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
  • Noise - heavy machinery - if in plant.
  • Noise - vibratory bowls and air feed systems - if in plant.
  • Added responsibility as outlined in the Environmental Management System.
