 The Opportunity

Mawer Investment Management is looking for an Associate, Private Wealth to join our team and provide critical support to Investment Counsellors and accurate, timely reporting. The successful candidate is expected to be a team player with excellent attention to detail and dedicated to delivering exceptional client service.

 Role Responsibilities

  • Work closely with one or more Investment Counsellors to provide administrative support and build and maintain excellent client relationships
  • Manage administrative account activities, such as account onboarding, trade preparation, verification, cash management, account reconciliation, document management, and reporting
  • Investigate and resolve issues, complaints, and requests from clients, custodians, and/or advisors
  • Prepare and verify accuracy of mutual fund trade orders
  • Prepare, review, and distribute monthly and quarterly reporting to clients
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex internal and external queries; anticipate and avoid potential issues
  • Help improve and streamline the client service model and operational procedures
  • Provide team back-up responsibilities as assigned and as required, including workflow support and colleague coverage

 Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ related experience in an administrative or financial services role
  • University business degree or relevant post-secondary diploma
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of individual investment account types (RRSP, TFSA, Taxable, Corporate, etc.) is required
  • Experience using Client Relationship Management (e.g. Salesforce) and Trade Order Management (e.g. SimCorp Dimension) software is an asset
  • Risk management mindset, with a good understanding of internal controls and the Compliance environment
  • Demonstrated exceptional client service skills
  • Solid knowledge of investment management business and terminology
  • Hands-on, self-starter with strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to prioritize and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
