Job description

Inside Sales Associate Front Counter

The Inside Sales Associate Front Counter is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting daily sales and branch operations. This role assists customers with product selection, quotations, order entry, and order fulfillment while serving as the primary point of contact for walk-in and call-in customers. Working closely with outside sales, warehouse, and operations teams, the Inside Sales Associate helps ensure a seamless customer experience from initial inquiry through delivery or pickup. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and enjoys building relationships in a fast-paced building materials environment.

Customer Service & Sales
  • Greet customers and provide professional, knowledgeable service at the sales counter
  • Assist customers with product selection, pricing, and recommendations for building materials and related products
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Develop customer quotes and convert opportunities into sales
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through outstanding service and product knowledge
Order Management
  • Enter customer orders accurately into company systems
  • Process sales orders, quotations, returns, exchanges, and credits as needed
  • Coordinate will-call orders, deliveries, and customer pickups
  • Verify product availability and communicate lead times or delivery schedules
  • Ensure all sales documentation is accurate and complete
Branch & Operational Support
  • Coordinate with warehouse, yard, shipping, and delivery teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives by assisting with customer accounts and sales activities
  • Help maintain accurate customer records and sales documentation
  • Participate in inventory counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives
  • Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and professional showroom and sales counter
Product Knowledge & Customer Solutions
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of company products, services, and industry trends
  • Recommend solutions that meet customer project needs and budget requirements
  • Resolve customer concerns by coordinating with internal departments and management
  • Promote company programs, services, and value-added offerings
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with branch personnel to support daily operational goals
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Occasional lifting of product samples or materials (up to 2550 pounds)
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on business needs
