Job description

As a member of the healthcare team, the Clerk Typist 4 provides support to the Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC) patients, families, and members of the healthcare team. Reporting to the JCC Manager Flow and Operations, the Clerk responsibilities include but are not limited to: patient reception, registration, scheduling, order entry, statistical data, telephone communications, supply and document management, filing, coordination of the patient chart by requesting medical reports, slides and films. Functions according to the job description for the JCC Clerk Typist 4.

1. Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years clerical experience in a healthcare related setting.
3. Successful completion of Medical Terminology 1 & 2 (proof required).
4. Knowledge and skill with office procedures and equipment such as fax, photocopier, label printer, multiple phone lines, and computer.
5. Demonstrated computer proficiency and experience with MOSAIQ, Clinical Connect, MS Office and Teletracking.  EPIC Hospital Information System experience preferred.
6. Keyboarding of at least 45 wpm (subject to testing).
7. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks and problem solve in a fast paced environment.
9. Ability to effectively liaise with patients, families, and the interprofessional healthcare team.
