Night (United States of America)
Order Entry Pharmacist
Registered Pharmacist who provides medication for patients of all ages and counsels patients and their families about the proper use of their medications. This individual is also responsible for providing drug information to Physicians and the medical center staff.
  • Bachelor's degree or Pharm D from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Current valid Florida Pharmacist license or intern permit required. Medication Distribution:
  • Prepares medication orders for inpatients and outpatients appropriately, accurately and within time standard.
  • Prepares IV, IVPB, TPN and specialty admixtures according to standard.
  • Refills medication carts accurately and within time standard.
  • Distributes controlled substances maintaining appropriate records and stock levels.
  • Prepares stock and specialized medications as required.
  • Maintains appropriate stock levels. Performs Clinical Skills:
  • Monitors appropriate information from patient record in the daily practice of pharmacy.
  • Drug and dose are appropriate for age or compromised renal or liver function.
  • Initiates intervention with nurse and/or physician as necessary
  • Documents outcomes of pharmacist interventions.
  • Communicates drug and formulary information effectively. Provide Responsible and Accountable Pharmaceutical Care:
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Completes documentation with accuracy on a timely basis.
  • Uses Pharmacy department policy and procedures as guidance
  • Demonstrates awareness of state and federal laws related to the practice of pharmacy. Engages in Collaborative Relationships:
  • Uses appropriate and effective communication skills.
  • Reports to work as scheduled and conforms to working hours.
  • Utilizes time effectively to complete other duties and support peers and colleagues. Applies Principles of Leadership:
  • Assists with department responsibilities.
  • Responsive to inquiries.
  • Anticipates needs and prepares accordingly.
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new employees. Assumes Responsibility for Professional Growth/Accountability:
  • Attends continuing education programs, meetings and stays current with literature.
