In this role, your primary focus will be assisting customers at the sales counter with product selection, order entry, and service support.

We are seeking a proven contributor to join our branch operations as a Counter Sales Associate. The ideal candidate is an energetic team player who will take ownership of providing premier customer service at the counter, assist with product selection, order accuracy and entry, and service support. 

This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and a customer-first mindset. While the primary focus is counter sales responsibilities. As a representative of Stearns Supply. a Park Wiseway Supply Group (PWSG) company, you will provide excellent customer service by ensuring the right products, in the right quantities, are delivered or provided promptly.

Knowledge of residential, construction, and commercial plumbing and electrical products is a plus.

Hours: Available to work between the hours of 7:00 ? 5:00 pm / Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Prior experience in counter sales and customer service
  • Experience in wholesale distribution or a related industry
  • Working knowledge of the electrical or plumbing markets

Counter Sales Role:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers at the sales counter, providing knowledgeable assistance with plumbing, electrical and related products.
  • Process orders accurately and efficiently in the system.
  • Ensure counter and sales areas remain neat, clean, organized, and stocked; all products are stocked in designated locations
  • Ensure order picking accuracy measures 100% by double-checking all orders.
  • Ensure items are promptly and accurately selected within established company processes and procedures
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the company?s offerings and stay updated on industry trends to effectively address customer inquiries.

Perform all assigned duties safely and efficiently adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as required or requested by management.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Customer service and sales experience
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a customer-first attitude.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and lighting products is a plus.
  • Required to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to push/pull pallet jack or cart weighing up to 350 lbs.
  • Able to perform repetitive motions of bending, squatting, stooping, and standing; including the motion of placing and removing the product from shelves, stabilizing on the mode of delivery, or carrying by hand.
  • Ability to perform light driving/delivery duties via company truck; perform repeated motions of bending, squatting, stooping, and standing; including motion of getting in and out of the truck from the driver seat, removing the product from the truck, stabilizing on the mode of delivery via two-wheel dolly or carrying by hand.
