Position Overview
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Commercial team.
This role is far more than traditional order entry. The Customer Service Representative serves as a trusted partner to customers by identifying application requirements, developing pricing proposals and quotations, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring customers receive timely, accurate information throughout the sales and order fulfillment process.
Working closely with the Sales Manager, this position helps grow inside sales accounts while partnering with Planning, Production, Engineering, and Shipping to deliver an exceptional customer experience from initial inquiry through final shipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building customer relationships, solving problems, and supporting technical sales in a manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, providing responsive and professional service
  • Work directly with customers to understand product requirements, specifications, quantities, and delivery expectations
  • Based on acquiring a deep understanding of Elmet specific markets and customer requirements, develop pricing proposals and quotations for inside sales accounts independently and in collaboration with the Sales Manager to optimize revenue and profitability
  • Prepare accurate quotes while coordinating pricing, lead times, and product availability with internal teams
  • Enter and manage customer orders within the ERP system while ensuring accuracy of pricing, quantities, and delivery requirements
  • Coordinate with Planning, Production, Engineering, and Shipping to provide accurate order status updates and delivery timelines
  • Monitor customer orders throughout the production process and proactively communicate delays or changes
  • Resolve customer questions, order discrepancies, returns, credits, and other service-related issues
  • Maintain customer records, quotations, and documentation within ERP and CRM systems
  • Support forecasting, demand planning, and commercial reporting activities
  • Build long-term customer relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service

  • 2-5 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, account management, or commercial support within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience preparing quotations, pricing proposals, or supporting sales activities preferred
  • Strong understanding of order management, customer communication, and commercial processes
  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple customer priorities simultaneously
  • Problem-solving mindset with a collaborative, customer-focused approach
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, semiconductor, industrial manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries is preferred
