Job description

Title: Order Selector

Type of Placement: Temp to Hire

Shift: 2nd shift 6:00pm-until job completed Sunday- Thursday

Pay/Pay Range: $24.00

Summary:

Order fulfillment on a strong team in a fast-paced environment. You will operate warehouse equipment to build and send appropriate orders. An order picker must always be on time and able to work long hours on their feet. They are strong and deft with an ability to “pick up” on small details.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Retrieve orders according to quantity, size, ensuring accuracy.

·         Build pallets with orders and position them to load docks.

·         Work with a WMS system.

·         Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions.

·         Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·         High school diploma or GED equivalency.

·         Warehouse and/or distribution experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Ability to recognize product by area of put away (DRY-REFRIDGERATED OR FROZEN).

·         Prior Forklift, pallet jack experience.

·         Basic math and reading skills required.

·         Ability to understand and execute instructions.

·         Ability to operate power truck equipment safely.

·         General warehouse knowledge and understanding.

·         Ability to operate inventory-controlled equipment and handheld devices.

Environmental Conditions:

Fast-paced environment. Requires ability to pay close attention to details. Working in temperature-controlled areas including refrigerated and freezer.

Physical Capabilities:

Frequently required to stand for long periods of time, walk, stretching, twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of boxes or containers can be expected. Ability to lift 50 pounds daily.
