Kenmore Air is an iconic Pacific Northwest heritage company with nearly 80 years of history in seaplane operations, charter flights throughout the western United States, and scheduled service in the US and Canada. Our operations span multiple locations including our home base in Kenmore, Lake Union, Boeing Field, and outstation locations including Friday Harbor and Orcas Island. We are looking for a skilled and resourceful Facilities and Maintenance Technician who takes pride in keeping our hangars, offices, shops, and docks in excellent working order so that our team can do what they do best.

What You Will Do

  • Complete general maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager across main base facilities (hangars, offices, shops,common areas): replace light fixtures, replace door handles, install desks and monitors, and similar work
  • Maintain and repair docks, ramps, floating structures, and waterfront infrastructure at the seaplane bases as assigned
  • Support Friday Harbor and Orcas Island with scheduled and as-needed maintenance visits per the Facilities Manager's schedule
  • Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical work as assigned
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and report developing issues to the Facilities Manager for prioritization
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, supplies, and materials
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and facilities emergencies, notifying the Facilities Manager promptly
  • Support seasonal prep: winterization in fall, readiness checks in spring, as directed
  • Assistwith special projects, installations, and facility improvements as directed by the Facilities Manager
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment in compliance with applicable safety standards

What You Must Bring

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on facilities maintenance, general contracting, or related trade experience

• Proficiency across multiple trades including carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical, and painting

• Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, schematics, and work orders

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to improvise practical solutions in a dynamic environment

• Comfort working independently with minimal supervision and managing your own time across multiple locations

• Valid Washington State driver's license and clean driving record

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and perform labor-intensive tasks in varying weather conditions

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a marine or waterfront environment including dock and float maintenance

• Experience with aviation facility environments or similar industrial/operational settings

• Washington State electrical or plumbing certification

• Forklift certification or experience operating heavy equipment

• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and workplace safety programs
