At Salesforce, you will play a key role as an Integration Technical Architect in our Professional Services team, delivering complex MuleSoft integration solutions to our customers, while coaching and mentoring the next generation of architects. About the Role The role spans enterprise‐grade hybrid integration, API management, and infrastructure strategies for key customers. You will lead design, governance and implementation of integration projects, advise on best practices, and influence platform roadmap through engagement with MuleSoft Product Management. Core Responsibilities Lead and govern the design of complex, multi‐phased MuleSoft integration projects; ensure adherence to API‐led connectivity and integration patterns. Identify opportunities and efficiencies in customer IT operating models; support implementation of the SDLC pipeline. Define and scale enterprise integration best practices, reference architectures, foundational assets, and API patterns to drive platform adoption and reuse. Establish and enforce DevOps models, CI/CD pipelines and operational standards, including monitoring, alerting, and full API lifecycle management. Key Deliverables Scale best practices globally through reusable assets, reference architectures, and implementations. Enable field teams and partners to boost delivery and customer success. Lead requirements workshops and deliver architectural blueprint documents to influence the strategic direction of projects. Guide product direction and feature delivery by identifying gaps and providing valuable insights to leadership. Leadership and Collaboration Act as a trusted technical advisor to client executives and internal sales/delivery teams throughout the pre‐sales and project delivery lifecycle. Mentor and coach junior architects, engineers, and consultants on technical design principles, implementation strategies, and customer‐facing best practices. Drive decision‐making for complex technical challenges, balancing scope, time‐to‐market, and technical debt across integration solutions. Engage with MuleSoft Product Management and Engineering to relay field feedback and influence the platform's future roadmap. Required Qualifications Active Secret‐level security clearance. 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years leading complex integration and solution architecture initiatives. 2+ years of hands‐on MuleSoft experience or equivalent, including proficiency in designing and implementing API‐led connectivity and integration patterns. Demonstrated expertise in High Availability (HA), Scalability, the SDLC, and full API lifecycle management. Experience defining full API life‐cycle management, from API design and integration development through to deployment, operations and governance. Exceptional customer‐facing communication and expectation management skills; ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear solution architectures and deliverables. Experience managing and architecting multiple technical integration projects using the SDLC end‐to‐end, sometimes simultaneously. Experience architecting services integrations with MuleSoft and other solutions such as IBM, BEA, Oracle Fusion, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, Progress Sonic, and API Management solutions. Demonstrated understanding of API security principles, including authentication, authorization and application of security policies. Preferred Skills Expertise in defining full API lifecycle management, SDLC, Microservices and related architecture patterns (Service Mesh, Serverless). Deep experience designing API‐led connectivity and architecture (System, Process, Experience APIs) and mastery of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform features (API Management, Exchange, Flex Gateway). Experience driving technical workshops with technical and business clients to derive value‐added services and implementations. Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO27001, FISMA, HIPAA, SOX) and experience configuring enterprise software for security compliance. Multi‐cloud proficiency in AWS, Azure, GCP and expertise in DevOps practices (Git, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, CI/CD). Working knowledge of on‐premise/cloud/container‐based infrastructures, SDLC pipelines, deployments, and definition of best practices/standards. Proficiency in at least two of the following: Bash, Go, Python, Ruby, Node.js, Rust, Java. Experience with at least one RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle DB), NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB), distributed key‐value store (etcd) and time‐series DB (InfluxDB, TSDB). Base salary for this role ranges from $172,500 to $260,100 annually, with higher ranges in key markets such as California, New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle and WashingtonDC.
