Role: Oracle Fusion Payroll Functional Architect

Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Job Summary:

 We are seeking a highly experienced and certified Oracle Fusion Payroll Functional Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll, possessing a strong understanding of its integration with Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) and advanced proficiency in Oracle Fast Formulas. This role is critical in leading the design, configuration, implementation, and optimization of our Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end functional design, configuration, and implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll modules, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and legislative reporting.
  • Gather and analyze complex business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into detailed functional specifications and system configurations for Oracle Fusion Payroll.
  • Provide expert guidance on the setup and integration of Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) with Payroll, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate time-to-pay processes.
  • Design and test Oracle Fast Formulas for complex payroll calculations, validations, accruals, and business rules, optimizing system functionality without custom coding.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis, prototype solutions, and lead Conference Room Pilots (CRPs) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams on integrations, data conversions, reports, and customizations, ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including functional design documents, test scripts, and end-user training materials.
  • Deliver training and support to end-users and internal teams, fostering self-sufficiency and system adoption.
  • Stay abreast of Oracle Fusion HCM product updates, new features, and industry best practices, advising on their impact and potential benefits.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll and OTL-related issues, providing functional guidance and support.

Skills Required:

  • Application Architect, Application Support, Application Solutions, Application Development, Application Design, Solution Architecture

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Oracle HCM Cloud, with at least 5 years specializing in Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll as a Functional Architect or Lead Consultant.
  • Oracle Payroll Cloud Certified Implementation Professional (or equivalent current certification).
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) module, including configuration of timecard layouts, approval workflows, and time calculation rules.
  • Experience in designing, writing, and testing Oracle Fast Formulas for various HCM modules, particularly withi
  • Experience with full lifecycle Oracle HCM Cloud implementations (requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, deployment, post-go-live support).
  • Strong understanding of core HR business processes and their integration with Payroll. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into effective system solutions.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience with other Oracle Fusion HCM modules such as Core HR, Absence Management, or Compensation. Familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and HCM Extracts. Ability to mentor junior team members.
