Position Description:

We are seeking a Jr Oracle APEX Application Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Oracle APEX application development, strong PL/SQL skills, and a solid understanding of database design and integration. This role involves working closely with IT staff to deliver efficient, high-quality Oracle solutions in an agile environment.

Schedule:

2 Days/Week on-site in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy Oracle APEX applications, develop code in Oracle (PL/SQL)

• Data Management: Perform data analysis and manipulation to support business intelligence and reporting needs.

• Database Design and Modeling: Knowledge in database design, normalization, and ER modeling.

• Data Extraction and Automation: Implement reliable and efficient data extraction and automation services.

• Production support: Troubleshoots production issues across business areas and across some different technologies.

• Performance Optimization: Optimize database and application performance, including tuning PL/SQL code and indexing strategies.

• Integration and Automation: Implement reliable and efficient data integration and automation services.

• Agile Development: Work within an agile development environment, utilizing agile methodologies and practices.

• Collaboration: Work closely with IT staff to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement improvements.

• Documentation: Maintain technical documentation and user guides for developed applications.

• Quality Assurance: Manage quality assurance and testing efforts to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.

• Security and Compliance: Ensure applications adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.

• Continuous Improvement: Apply business process improvement practices and re-engineer methodologies to enhance application development and deployment processes.

• Recommends changes in data structures to support data integrity, reporting accuracy, and acceptable performance.

• Provides qualitative feedback for IT staff mentoring purposes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Technical Expertise:

- PL/SQL programming, including triggers, procedures, packages, and functions.

- Proficiency in Oracle APEX development and associated web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

- Experience in database design, normalization, and ER modeling.

- Knowledge of Oracle database administration and architecture.

- Skills in performance tuning, including indexing and query optimization.

- Understanding of Oracle security features and best practices.

- Integration and ETL: Experience with integrating Oracle databases with other systems

- Web Technologies: Proficiency in web technologies used with Oracle APEX, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful Web Services.

- Testing and Quality Assurance: Skills in unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks.

- MS Power Platform is a plus

· Tools and Technologies:

- Experience with Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence.

- Familiarity with business intelligence tools and data warehousing concepts.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in PL/SQL, Oracle RDBMS,

• 1+ years of experience in Oracle APEX development

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's degree substitutes for 3 years of experience.

• Demonstrated experience in web-based programming (HTML, JavaScript).

• Familiarity with standard business processes and reporting.

• Oracle Database 11g and higher

• Eligible for Public Trust Clearance

• US Citizenship Required
