Job Description
The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the support, monitoring, performance tuning, and compliance of all Oracle systems. This includes the configuration, administration, maintenance, and documentation of mission-critical 24x7 production and non-production environments.
Support the Audit Remediation projects to upgrade and encrypt both production and non-production databases and scrub/mask production data used in non-production database environments.
Assist development teams with planning and implementations, including review/approval of database schema changes, routines, and query optimizations.
Develop standard operating procedures and best practices. Provide advice / recommendations on database architecture, design and implementation.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years or progressive experience in Oracle DB administration and development
  • Working experience with technical design and development of database modules and components
  • Working experience with coding, code review and testing
  • Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL coding and tuning
  • Support Oracle production and non-production databases including daily operations, backup and recovery, performance tuning and after hours on-call support.
  • Support the Audit Remediation projects to upgrade and encrypt both production and non-production databases and scrub/mask production data used in non-production database environments.
  • Assist development teams with planning and implementations, including review/approval of database schema changes, routines, and query optimizations.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices. Provide advice / recommendations on database architecture, design and implementation.
  • Provide training, documentation for knowledge transfer to other database team members, and communicate both to non-technical users and to technical personnel on Database team and Applications teams.
  • Experience in database schema design including logical and physical database schema design for large scale, highly available and mission-critical application systems.
  • Experience designing and supporting the database components of software applications and understanding of entire application development life cycle.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with computer hardware including Servers, Networks, SANs, etc.
  • Proficiency with UNIX, Linux, shell scripting and cron jobs are desired.
  • Python scripting is a PLUS
