Job description

Job Summary:
The Senior PeopleSoft Developer III will oversee, maintains, and troubleshoot the applicable modules plus provide support, development, and design knowledge to implement reports and workflows. Candidate needs to demonstrate recent (prior five years) working expertise in PeopleSoft HCM (including Payroll for North America) and PeopleSoft Financial applications. Monitor regularly scheduled jobs, both those running in Process Scheduler and those running as Unix cron jobs. Responsibilities include resolving day to day production issues, patching, implementing, and upgrading systems following the Oracle/PeopleSoft methodology, communicating effectively with both team members and users, and following ITIL methodology. As part of those responsibilities, this developer will work with lower level developers, end users and other technical support groups to support the hospital.
Education:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent work experience.
Specialization and proficiency in multiple modules in at least one application or have experience in multiple PeopleSoft Applications (FSCM and HCM both).
Common knowledge of tools like Component Interfaces, Workflow and Integration Broker.

Minimum of 7+ years PeopleSoft Developer, supporting and implementing PeopleSoft HCM, plus experience upgrading PeopleSoft release 8.x and 9.x. Experience in supporting interfaces with various applications.
Experience working on and understanding of MS Windows, Unix Server, and network environments.
Hands-on experience with Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engines, File Layouts, Application Messaging, Integration Broker, PeopleSoft Security, installing Maintenance Packs, Bundles and Fixes, PeopleTools Upgrades, and Application Upgrades using PeopleSoft Change Assistant.
Participation in at least two PeopleSoft (8.x or above) upgrade projects including new module installations.
Working knowledge of ITIL Service Management best practice and change control processes.
The ability to troubleshoot service interruption incidents, identify the root cause and take corrective action.
Experience with the full application development lifecycle.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to manage constantly changing priorities.
Must be able to complete assignments within the expected timeline.
Must respond to multiple task interruptions in order to provide service to internal and external customers.
Must possess the ability to think critically, assess input on system changes and develop/suggest possible solutions to identified and potential problems.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to respond to, serve, and train customers.
Fluency in the English language and the ability to clearly and concisely articulate thoughts in written and oral communications.
Experience supporting a 24X7 operational environment including acting as primary on-call contact on a rotating basis.
Preferred:
Technical experience in Oracle release 10 or higher. Experience installing, patching, tuning and supporting database products in a WinTel environment.
Experience with Unix/AIX Operating Systems, including writing shell scripts
Experience in SQL query optimization and an In-depth understanding of the PeopleSoft HCM schemas.
Experience in PeopleTools 8.50 or higher environment.

Provide ongoing development, architecture, and maintenance of the Peoplesoft HRMS and FIN applications
Perform application and Peopletools upgrades, patches and enhancements
Responsible for quality assurance testing of all system development and enhancements prior to production implementation
Maintain a list of all standard reports and ensures all reports are published as scheduled
Reviews report specifications and initiates report enhancements as required
Supports end users in creation of ad hoc reports as required. Generates sophisticated ad hoc reports as requested by management or other personnel
Assist end users with setup and maintenance of system job codes, tables, etc.
Coordinates the implementation of interfaces to third-party data providers and internal systems. Maintains and develops interfaces as required
Interact with end users to support needs and suggestions for the system
Participate in On-Call schedule
Write and maintain system documentation
May be required to work off-shifts when needed
Perform other duties as required
