Oracle developers have a bachelor’s degree in computer science and are often required to have additional qualifications, including one of six certification levels from Oracle. Different roles as an Oracle developer require different levels of certification and expertise. It is also helpful to know other programming languages and experience working with cloud-based platforms.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Oracle Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Oracle Developer, you need strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, database design, and experience with Oracle database platforms, usually backed by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with Oracle development tools like Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and certifications such as Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate are highly valued.
